News in Brief

Traffic Nightmare continues on B198 - Cheshunt to WalthamX

Traffic’s been a nightmare all day on the B198, stretching from Cheshunt Old Pond through Crossbrook, past Theobalds Grove, and into Waltham Cross. School runs have been a mess, thanks to roadworks spilling over from the Waltham Cross transformation project. Frustrated drivers are honking, and residents are losing patience—everyone’s wondering how much longer this will last. Let’s hope they wrap it up soon because we’re all reaching our limit!

Waltham Cross Regeneration: Growing Pains for a Promising Future

The Waltham Cross regeneration is a welcome upgrade, but the disruptions are starting to wear residents thin. From the market shifting locations to sections of the town centre and shopping mall being cordoned off, it’s safe to say some nerves are getting frayed.

Don’t get us wrong—those demo images of what’s to come look fantastic, and the community is excited for the future. But the day-to-day inconvenience is starting to overshadow the big picture. Everyone’s wondering: Is Autumn 2025 really just around the corner? Because right now, it feels like a distant promise. Oh dear, patience is wearing thin… let’s hope we see the finish line soon!

Keep an Eye Out: Northern Lights Might Grace Broxbourne This Weekend!

There’s an exciting possibility of catching a glimpse of the Northern Lights over Broxbourne this weekend! A series of recent solar flares could lead to the aurora borealis making a rare appearance across the UK skies.

The Northern Lights occur when solar storms interact with atmospheric gases above our north and south magnetic poles, creating stunning displays of vibrant colors in the sky. While sightings this far south are rare, it’s definitely worth stepping outside after dark and looking north over the next couple of nights.

Keep your fingers crossed for clear skies and don’t miss the chance to witness this beautiful natural phenomenon!
