Meet the Nominees: Broxtown Community Champion Voting Starts Today!

Storm Bert made her presence felt over the weekend, with winds whistling day and night. But even the wild weather couldn’t stop the Hoddesdon Christmas Parade! Gazebos and umbrellas may have flown like Mary Poppins, but the show went on—kudos to everyone who made it happen.
Now, onto today’s exclusive: the Broxtown Community Champion Awards voting officially kicks off! We have an incredible lineup of nominees from across the borough, each celebrated for their outstanding contributions to the community. This is your chance to learn more about these inspiring individuals and cast your vote for the champion who stands out to you.

🗳️ Start Date: Today, Monday, 25th November
🗓️ End Date: Thursday, 7th December
Encourage your friends, family, and neighbours to vote and help us recognise the champions who make our community shine. At the end of the voting period, the winner and runner-up will be announced, with special Christmas gifts from the Broxtown team as a token of appreciation.

Nominee: Barry Cressey
Goffs Oak Community Champion Nominee
Barry Cressey is a cornerstone of the Goffs Oak community, dedicating over a decade of his life to serving and uplifting those around him. As Chairman of the Goffs Oak Community Association, Barry has been a pivotal leader, guiding the organization through challenging times, including the COVID-19 pandemic, when he and just two others kept the association running. Today, thanks to his efforts, the Association thrives with a full committee of 12 local residents.
