The "Parking Buddies" serve as visual reminders to motorists during busy pick-up and drop-off times, with early results showing promise.

Nicola Adams, Headteacher of Longlands Primary School, said: "We've already seen a noticeable reduction in traffic outside our gates thanks to the new parking statues."

Councillor Jim Clune added: "Children's safety is paramount. These parking buddies are a highly visible way to remind drivers to think twice."

The Council is monitoring their effectiveness and may expand the scheme to more schools.
