A Christmas Eve Message from Broxtown
Just one more sleep until Christmas! Broxbourne with some undercover Christmas decors
Good morning! It’s December 24th—Christmas Eve!
The town is absolutely buzzing as residents soak in the final hours of the season’s excitement. You might think, after the mad rush of shopping last week, folks would be cozied up at home, but no! The streets and stores are still packed with last-minute shoppers, creating a bustling scene—and yes, some gridlock too!
To get the inside scoop, we sent out our undercover agents yesterday to capture the festive frenzy and discover what everyone was up to. From charming Christmas displays to bustling shopping centers, we’ve gathered plenty of stories to share with you.
Today will be slightly different from our usual, we’ll be bringing you exclusive footage from our friendly journalists, along with a special holiday message from the Broxtown team.
Stay tuned—there’s so much festive joy to uncover! 🎅✨
🎅 Tesco's Festive Cheer Brings Smiles to Shoppers 🎄
Yesterday, Tesco staff at Brookfield brought the festive spirit alive, donning delightful Christmas costumes that added a splash of holiday magic to the shopping experience. Their cheerful demeanor not only guided shoppers to their destinations but also spread joy with free chocolates for visitors.
Shoppers couldn't resist snapping photos with the merry team while enjoying the festive atmosphere. It was a heartwarming sight to see the staff go above and beyond to make the season special for everyone.
As the countdown to Christmas continues, a gentle reminder to plan your shopping early. Brookfield’s M&S, Tesco, Next, and other stores are ready to serve you, but arriving on time can save you from the last-minute rush and the stress that often accompanies it.
Make the most of this season by getting your shopping sorted in style and soaking in the holiday cheer!
🌟 Celebrating Christmas Decorations Across the Borough 🎄
The best Christmas window décor competition in Cheshunt wrapped up in style, with JM Installations taking home the top prize. Their stunning display brought smiles and festive cheer to all who passed by.
But we didn’t stop there—our quest to find the best Christmas lights and decorations took us beyond Cheshunt to explore Waltham Cross, Great Amwell, and Stanstead Abbotts. The creativity and effort displayed were truly overwhelming, making it impossible to fit every highlight into this newsletter.
We want to take a moment to thank the families, businesses, and organizations across Broxbourne who go above and beyond each year to transform our borough into a winter wonderland. Your dedication ensures this remains the most magical time of the year.
While we couldn’t feature all the incredible decorations, we did capture a few underrated gems that caught our eyes. These displays, though perhaps less celebrated, added a special charm to the season.
Thank you, Broxbourne, for lighting up our Christmas and making it a time to remember. Here’s to keeping the festive spirit alive for years to come!
CHRISTMAS EVE SPECIAL
🎄 A Christmas Eve Message from Broxtown 🎄
It’s Christmas Eve, and the countdown is nearly over—just one more sleep until Christmas! The air is buzzing with excitement, especially for the kids eagerly tracking Santa’s journey from Sydney. The magic of the season is truly upon us.
For those last-minute shoppers, the Pavilion in Waltham Cross and Hoddesdon is open for a limited time today, so be sure to make it count. However, as we’ve seen in the past few days, traffic has been a challenge. From the gridlock in Hoddesdon roundabout, Waltham Cross and Cheshunt to delays around Brookfield, today is likely to be no different. If you’re heading out, we hope you navigate the roads safely.
While we’re not expecting a white Christmas or icy roads this year, the weather will bring its own wintry charm, with temperatures between 7°C and 11°C and a misty atmosphere. It may be a dull day weather-wise, but the festive spirit is shining bright across Broxbourne.
For those commuting into London, whether on Greater Anglia trains, Weaver Line services, or by car via the A10 or M25, we wish you a smooth and safe journey. If you’re driving, don’t forget to fill your tank as some petrol stations may have limited hours today. And for those with electric vehicles, remember to charge your car ahead of your travels to avoid any inconvenience during the festivities! Check your tyres, car wipers and make sure you know your insurance details or have them in hand.
As we wind down for Christmas, we encourage you to share your festive moments with us. Whether it’s a beautifully decorated tree, a special meal, or a heartfelt gift exchange, we’d love to see how you’re celebrating this year. Tag us on social media or send us via email. We will share the best photos in our The Best of 2024 Edition on Monday 30th Dec.
For those spending Christmas surrounded by loved ones, we hope it’s filled with joy, laughter, and cherished memories. But if this year looks a little different for you, please remember that you’re not alone. Hertfordshire County Council offers support for anyone who may need it, and we’re also here to help. Feel free to reach out to us via email if there’s any way we can assist you in connecting with your community or finding some holiday cheer.
Finally, we hope Santa brings you everything on your wish list this year. From all of us at Broxtown, we wish you a fabulous Christmas filled with love, happiness, and magic.
Warm festive wishes,
The Broxtown Team
